EIHO Methylene Blue (highly concentrated)

EIHO Methylene Blue is an effective treatment for common protozoan parasite and fungus in fish. Methylene Blue is commonly used in hatcheries specially for discus breeders to reduce incidence bacterial and fungus infection.

It is effective against egg fungus. Also useful to treat common gills diseases, sliminess of skin and mass white spot infection. EIHO Methylene Blue can also be used to help reduce chances of fish getting nitrite toxicity after prolonged transportation, and to improve oxygen circulation.

Directions

SHAKE BEFORE USE. For hatcheries, use 1 cap (5ml) for 50L (2mg/L). Additional dosage can be added on third and fifth days if needed. For treatment of diseases, use 1 cap (5ml) for 50L (2mg/L). Additional dosage can be added on fourth and seventh days if needed. Remove activated carbon and turn off UV during treatment. Kills plants and filter bacteria in display tank. Can dye filter equipment. Best to be used in quarantine tank.

Using EIHO Methylene Blue in SG quarantine and breeding tanks

This concentrated methylene blue is a long-standing treatment for common protozoan parasites and fungus, and Singapore discus and fancy-fish breeders rely on it to protect eggs from fungus and to ease fish through the stress of long transport. It also helps reduce nitrite toxicity and supports oxygen circulation, which matters for fish arriving heat-stressed in our climate after a humid courier run across the island.

Always treat in a separate quarantine or hospital tank, never the display: methylene blue kills filter bacteria and plants, stains silicone and equipment blue, and is best kept away from your scape. Remove activated carbon and switch off UV before dosing, follow the label rate of one 5ml cap per 50L, and repeat only as directed. Used carefully in isolation, it is one of the most reliable broad first-line treatments we stock.
