My filter has become loud after a few months. What’s the reason for that?
> The impeller of the filter is subject to constant wear and tear. We recommend you replace it. This way its smooth running is ensured. Make sure that the noises are not caused by trapped air.
The guarantee covers defects in material and assembly. The guarantee does not cover parts subject to wear and tear, such as the impellers or shafts as well as damage caused by external influences and improper handling.
The JBL CristalProfi m in a Singapore Nano or HDB Tank
For the small 20-80 litre tanks that suit most HDB and condo setups, this mat-style internal filter is one of the tidiest options we stock. It sits flat against the back glass rather than hanging off the rim, so it doesn’t eat into the limited width you get on a narrow ledge or shelf-mounted nano. The pump pushes flow along the surface, which keeps gas exchange healthy in our warm 27-29C water where oxygen dissolves more reluctantly than in temperate tanks.
The broad sponge face gives plenty of surface for the nitrifying bacteria that drive a stable tank, and because there are no slits or sharp intakes, juvenile fish and dwarf shrimp won’t get drawn in. We find that suits the planted shrimp tanks many local hobbyists run. In our chloraminated tap water, a mature sponge also helps buffer the small ammonia spikes that follow water changes and feeding.
