Growing Nesaea Crassicaulis in Singapore Tanks

Nesaea Crassicaulis is a striking stem plant we recommend for the background, where its tall growth and warm orange-to-red tones bring real depth and colour contrast to a green scape. It is a more demanding stem plant, rewarding good light, CO2 injection and consistent dosing with its richest colour, while lower-tech tanks tend to push it greener and leggier. Plant the stems with a little spacing so light reaches the lower leaves.

Acclimate the pot before planting: gently remove the rockwool, separate the stems and rinse them, then trim and replant healthy tops as the plant settles. Our soft, slightly acidic tap water suits it once dechlorinated. In warm 27-29C tanks growth can be quick, so expect regular trimming, and replant the cut tops to build a fuller, bushier stand at the rear of the aquascape over time.
