SUDO S-894 Large Breeder Cave for Bigger Plecos

The large S-894 ceramic cave is built for fuller-grown cave-spawning plecos that need more room to back in and turn. The handmade ceramic body is heavy and inert, sinking straight away and staying put even under stronger filter flow. A roomier bore lets a mature male settle comfortably over a clutch, fanning fresh water across the eggs through the whole guarding period without being cramped.

It will not change your pH or leach anything into the soft, slightly acidic water that comes out of most taps here, so it is safe in sensitive breeding setups. We recommend siting it in a shaded back corner, angled away from the light, so a male claims it as territory. Once established, plecos in our warm year-round tanks often spawn repeatedly in a cave like this.
