At 230 x 160 x 270mm and just 7 litres, the HR-230 is purpose-built for the desk and shelf spots that suit HDB and condo living, where a full setup simply will not fit. The integrated spray bar gives gentle surface agitation and aeration, and the clamshell feeding latch makes daily feeding a one-handed job. The low-distortion bent-glass front gives a cleaner view than the moulded acrylic you often see at this size, which we appreciate on a nano display.
In our 27-29C climate a tank this small usually needs no heater, so it is an easy entry point for a single betta, a small shrimp colony, or a planted nano. The catch with any built-in pump is the minimum water-level line: keep the water above it or the pump runs dry, so top up regularly to offset the faster evaporation our warmth causes. Light planting keeps the small water volume stable between changes.
