Bucephalandra Sintang Care in Singapore

Sintang is a medium-leaved buce that strikes a nice balance between the tiny coin types and the larger-leaved varieties, making it versatile across a range of layout sizes. Supplied potted and clean, it is a dependable choice for Singapore aquascapers who want a buce with presence but not bulk. We find it works well wrapped around driftwood branches or set into rock pockets, where its leaves catch light and add a mature, established feel to newer scapes.

Attach the rhizome to hardscape with glue or thread and leave it exposed; burying buce rhizomes invariably leads to rot. Our ambient 27-29C in Singapore means no chiller is required, and our soft, slightly acidic tap water suits it once dechlorinated. Like all buce it grows slowly and needs no pressurised CO2 to stay healthy. Keep gentle flow over the plant to prevent detritus settling, and avoid drastic water changes that can trigger melt.
