UP AQUA G-062 Mist Maker for Paludariums and Terrariums

This ultrasonic mist maker sits in shallow water and vibrates a ceramic membrane to produce a fine fog, with an LED that switches off automatically when it loses contact with the water. It is a favourite for paludariums, terrariums and vivariums where rolling mist adds atmosphere and, more usefully, raises humidity for moss, ferns and semi-aquatic plants that need a damp microclimate to thrive.

Singapore’s high ambient humidity already helps these setups, but localised fog keeps emersed growth lush and tops up moisture for amphibians or planted backgrounds. Run it on a timer for short bursts rather than continuously, keep the water level over the membrane within the stated range, and top up regularly since the unit will not fog dry. Use clean dechlorinated water to avoid mineral scale building on the ceramic disc over time.
