Using a Mist Maker in Terrariums and Paludariums

An ultrasonic mist maker sits a small disc just below the water surface and vibrates it into a fine, cool fog. In a terrarium or paludarium that fog does two jobs: it lifts humidity for moisture-loving plants and reptiles, and it creates the drifting misty look that makes a vivarium feel alive. For local hobbyists building tropical paludariums, it is a simple way to add atmosphere and microclimate at once.

Singapore’s already-high ambient humidity means you usually want a mister for visual effect and localised moisture rather than to flood the enclosure, so run it on a timer rather than constantly. Keep the disc submerged at the correct depth, top up the water as it evaporates, and use treated or RO water to avoid mineral scale building up on the unit. A small fan helps push the fog where you want it.
