This intricately handcrafted bonsai is ideal for aquascaping. The curiously twisted tree trunks ensure good stability and give the impression that the bonsai is more than 100 years old. The fine branches can be planted with moss or other small epiphytes like e.g. Bucephalandra or Anubias barteri var. Nana ‘Pangolino’ to enhance a natural impression.
Each piece is absolutely unique. The woods are pre-assembled before they reach Aquasabi, so we do not have any influence on the form or exact dimensions. The sets cannot be opened and no alternations can be made. The portrait fotographs serve as examples. The delivered wood pieces differ in form and size according to the table below.
The wood is not pre-watered which is why the time to sink may vary.

The ANS Bonsai Tree 17DS as a nano centrepiece

At roughly 23 x 17 x 10cm, this bonsai is a tidy single-piece focal point we often suggest for the small tanks common in Singapore flats. It fits a 30-45cm scape without crowding, giving you an instant aged-tree silhouette to build a layout around. The fine branching is purpose-made for aquascaping, so you can dress the canopy with moss or tiny epiphytes and grow a convincing miniature woodland in a footprint that suits a shelf or desk.

Like all natural-look aquarium wood, it can release a touch of tannin into our warm tropical water early on, giving a light amber tint that fades with water changes or an initial soak. Slow epiphytes such as Anubias and Bucephalandra are ideal here because they tie straight onto the branches, need no substrate, and cope easily with low light and the soft, slightly acidic tap water most SG hobbyists keep.
