Leftover food sinking into the substrate is a leading cause of cloudy water and nuisance algae, and in our warm 27-29C tanks that decay happens fast. The ClearFeast basket tackles it neatly: drop floating or sinking food into the device and it keeps the meal contained instead of scattering across your gravel or aquasoil. That makes it easier to feed the right amount, see what is actually eaten, and scoop out any excess before it fouls the water.
The clear design means you still get to enjoy watching your fish crowd in to feed, which is half the fun. It is particularly handy in planted scapes where you do not want food lodging between stems, and in shrimp or community tanks where overfeeding quickly shows up as a spike in waste. Mounting it in one spot also trains fish to gather predictably at feeding time.
