Starting a New Tank Right with APT Start (45g)

APT Start is a substrate enrichment and starter-bacteria pouch we recommend for anyone laying down a fresh aquascape, especially over aquasoil that benefits from an extra nutrient boost. Worked into the base layer before you flood the tank, it adds mineral macros and micros plus a bacterial culture to help kick off cycling. For the many local hobbyists setting up their first planted tank in a compact HDB-friendly footprint, it removes a lot of early-stage guesswork.

Spread one 45g pouch per roughly 60x30cm of footprint under your aquasoil, then plant and fill as usual. In our warm 27-29C water bacterial colonies establish quickly, so cycling tends to move along nicely, but you should still test before adding livestock rather than rushing it. Fresh aquasoil can release ammonia in the first weeks, so generous early water changes keep that spike in check while plants settle.
