The Aquaforest Air Scrubber Hose Explained

This is the dedicated 1m silicone hose for the Aquaforest Air Scrubber, sized at 10mm outer and 8mm inner diameter. It is the link that draws filtered, low-CO2 air from the scrubber into your protein skimmer’s intake, so it is a small but essential part of that setup. We carry it as a replacement and spare because silicone, while flexible and reliable, does eventually take a set or get nicked during a busy maintenance session in a crowded cabinet.

Silicone is the right material here as it stays soft and resists the discolouration you would get from cheaper tubing in a warm, humid Singapore sump cabinet. When fitting it, push it fully onto the barbs and avoid sharp kinks that would choke airflow and undercut the scrubber’s whole purpose of lifting and stabilising tank pH. Keep a spare length on hand so a damaged hose never interrupts your reef’s air supply.
