Terra Plate is released from DOOA to enjoy growing epiphytic orchids easily. It is a ceramic plate made of the same material as Terra Base. Because of the high absorbency, it is suitable for growing epiphytic orchids and air plants.
The basic usage of Terra Plate is to attach epiphytic orchids with a small amount of moss using Terra Line and hook it on an aquarium tank (Terra Plate Hook ideal for hooking the Terra Plate on Neo Glass Air is released simultaneously). By soaking the whole Terra Plate in water about once a week for daily maintenance, roots of the epiphytic orchids start spreading out on the Terra Plate as time goes by.

DOOA Terra Plate for Epiphytic Orchids in Singapore

The Terra Plate is a flat ceramic panel made from the same highly absorbent material as the Terra Base, designed so you can grow epiphytic orchids and air plants with very little fuss. You attach the orchid with a little moss using Terra Line, then hook the plate onto the rim of a terrarium. The ceramic holds moisture against the roots, mimicking the damp bark these plants cling to in the wild.

Maintenance is refreshingly simple, which suits busy Singapore households: soaking the whole plate in water roughly once a week keeps the roots happy between top-ups. Our ambient humidity helps the plate stay damp longer than it would in a drier climate, though air-conditioning can speed drying, so check it more often if the plate sits near a vent. Use treated or aged water for soaking to spare delicate orchid and moss roots from chloramine in our tap supply.
