biOrb Air Stone: Keeping Oxygen Up in Warm SG Water
The air stone sits at the base of your biOrb’s bubble tube and diffuses the air pump’s output into fine bubbles, driving both circulation and gas exchange. This matters more than many owners realise in Singapore, because warm water holds less dissolved oxygen than cool water. With our tanks often running at 27 to 29 degrees year-round, steady aeration is what keeps fish comfortable and the filter’s beneficial bacteria fed with oxygen.
Over time the stone’s pores clog with mineral scale and biofilm, the bubbles grow coarse, and turnover drops off. That is your cue to swap it. Depending on your water and how heavily the biOrb is stocked, a stone can last anywhere from a few months to a couple of years, so we suggest checking the bubble pattern during routine maintenance rather than waiting for it to fail outright.
Find replacement stones and pumps throughout our biorb-aquariums range. To understand the bigger picture, our aquarium oxygenation guide and air stone guide explain how aeration supports a healthy tank.
