Four-Way Air Splitting with the TW X-Joint

The X-joint splits one airline into three additional branches, turning a single pump outlet into a small distribution hub. It is the fitting that makes a shrimp rack or a row of fry tanks practical, letting one pump feed several sponge filters or airstones at once. The barbed arms hold standard flexible airline firmly, so you can build out a compact manifold without it popping apart under pressure.

This kind of one-pump-many-tanks setup is popular with Singapore breeders working in limited HDB space. Because warm 27-29C water carries less oxygen, having air reach every tank keeps fry and shrimp comfortable across the whole rack. Pair the X-joint with adjustable valves on each arm so you can balance flow, since the tank nearest the pump will otherwise hog the air. Fit a check valve per branch too, so a stalled pump during a monsoon outage cannot siphon water back through the manifold.
