Description

This is a pair of short scissors designed for precutting plants before planting, and pruning of the plants near the water surface. Please select the blade type, Straight or Curve, according to your needs. Straight type is good for cutting thick stem and Curve type is good for trimming low water plants.170mm

ADA Pro-Scissors Short Straight for Precut and Thick Stems

At a compact 170mm, the straight-type Pro-Scissors Short is purpose-built for precutting plants before planting and slicing thicker stems cleanly, which the straight blade handles better than a curved one. Singapore aquascapers doing frequent rescapes will appreciate trimming and sizing stems on the bench, keeping clippings out of the warm tank water where they decay quickly. We keep a pair on the worktop for every replant session.

The short blade gives leverage for tougher stems, so cut just above a node to encourage branching once replanted. Working outside the tank also lets you stage portions neatly before tweezing them into the substrate. After use, rinse off sticky plant sap and dry the steel completely, because in our humid climate any moisture trapped at the pivot will stiffen the action and spot the blade over time.
