Hints
WAVY MADAGASCAR APONOGETONThis tuber plant from Northwest Madagascar comes highly recommended for aquaria. It is easy to cultivate and just needs enough space. The scalloped leaves are highly decorative and are best presented among more subtle planting, for example, combined with Mayaca bog moss. A. longiplumulosus can live for many years in an aquarium environment. During rest periods it stops growing, but after a few months starts to produce new leaves. There is no need to remove the bulb at any point.
TCulture Aponogeton Longiplumulosus in Singapore Tanks
Aponogeton longiplumulosus is a tuberous bulb plant from northwest Madagascar with long, scalloped, wavy leaves that make a graceful background or specimen feature. It is easy to cultivate as long as you give it room, which makes it a rewarding step up for Singapore hobbyists ready to move beyond the basics. A single healthy bulb can hold court at the back of a larger display for years.
Plant the tuber so the crown sits just clear of the substrate, and pair it with a nutritious base or a root tab to fuel its heavy feeding. Like other Aponogeton it may enter a rest period and slow down before pushing new leaves, so leave the bulb in place rather than discarding it. Pair it with subtler planting so its scalloped leaves stand out, and give it open water at the back where the long fronds can sway without crowding neighbours.
