Ludwigia Palustris (Pot or TC Cup) for SG Tanks
We stock Ludwigia palustris in both potted and tissue-culture formats, a hardy, beginner-friendly red stem that earns its place at the back of the tank. The TC cup ships clean for shrimp and nano scapes, while the pot gives more biomass for larger layouts. In Singapore’s warm 27-29C tanks it grows submerged without a chiller, and it is one of the more forgiving coloured stems we carry, deepening from green to bronze-red as light intensity climbs.
Plant stems a few centimetres apart so light reaches the lower nodes, and trim and replant the tops to build a fuller, redder stand. It will grow in moderate light, but strong illumination with lean nitrogen and a touch of CO2 brings out the most intense colour. Our chloraminated tap water suits it once dechlorinated. Emersed-grown stock typically sheds a few leaves and reshapes as it adapts to fully submerged growth.
It is a dependable starter red and a strong background filler. See our Ludwigia palustris care guide and super red colour tips, with more under background plants.
