Description
A relatively small Ludwigia that assumes an intensively red colour even under medium light. It ramifies well and is rather undemanding. It was brought onto the market under several names, also as L. palustris. However, it differs from the customary L. palustris.

Ludwigia palustris ‘Super Red’ for Singapore planted tanks
This is the red stem we hand to scapers who want strong colour without a difficult plant. Super Red holds an intense red even under medium light, branches readily, and stays relatively small, so it works as a colour accent, a background mass, or in nano layouts. We stock it as healthy potted stock that transitions cleanly into a submerged form once settled.
Singapore’s soft, slightly acidic tap water suits it, and at our ambient 27-29C it sits right at the upper edge of its comfortable range, so skip the heater and instead watch your lighting. The redder you want it, the more light and iron it needs; weak light gives a duller, greener stem. CO2 sharpens both growth and colour, but unlike fussier reds it will still perform respectably in a well-lit setup without injection.
