The biOrb 12V DC air pump is the dedicated pump that drives the bubble-up filtration at the heart of a biOrb aquarium. In the biOrb system, that stream of air lifts water through the filter cartridge and aerates the tank, so a healthy, correctly matched pump is central to keeping the whole setup running cleanly. If your biOrb has gone quiet or the bubbles have weakened, the pump is usually the first part to check and replace.

Good aeration matters in our warm 27-29C tanks, since warmer water holds less dissolved oxygen and fish rely on that constant surface turnover. The pump is also your first line of defence during one of our monsoon-season power cuts, so it is worth keeping a working unit and knowing how your tank copes when the air stops. Run it on its rubber feet to dampen vibration and site it above the water line to prevent back-siphoning.
