Placement matters more than people expect. We push the heavy bases firmly into the ceramic media so the fronds catch the airstone’s bubble stream and sway naturally rather than standing stiff. Group three or four stems toward the back and sides, leaving the front open so fish have swimming room. Because they are inert, they trap detritus over time, so we lift and rinse them in old tank water during your usual water change rather than under the tap.
