How To Safely Add Fish To Tank
- Set live stock aside with transportation bag in room temperature place for 30 minutes.
- Then transfer bag to float in aquarium for another 30 minutes
- Use a fish net to transfer the live stock by scooping it from the bag into the tank.
Note: Do not release live stocks together with the transportation water into tank.
Botia Loach: An Active Bottom-Dweller for Singapore Tanks
Botia loaches are busy, intelligent bottom-dwellers that bring real personality to the lower levels of a community tank. They are natural foragers, constantly sifting the substrate and poking into crevices, and many keepers value them for helping keep pest snails in check. Like most loaches they are social, so they do best in a small group where you will see their playful, sometimes comical interactions rather than a solitary, hidden fish.
These loaches appreciate our soft, slightly acidic SG tap water and the warm 27-29C ambient most flats sit at. They are scaleless or fine-scaled, which makes them a little more sensitive to water quality, so a mature, well-filtered tank and regular water changes matter. Provide caves, driftwood and rounded decor for hiding and resting, and use a soft or smooth substrate that protects their delicate barbels as they forage.
