How To Safely Add Fish To Tank
- Set live stock aside with transportation bag in room temperature place for 30 minutes.
- Then transfer bag to float in aquarium for another 30 minutes
- Use a fish net to transfer the live stock by scooping it from the bag into the tank.
Note: Do not release live stocks together with the transportation water into tank.
Leucomelas Corydoras: A Charming, Active Bottom Feeder
The leucomelas corydoras is a small, sociable catfish that works the substrate in busy little groups, sifting for food and adding constant gentle movement to the lower third of the tank. Like all corydoras it is happiest in a shoal, so we always recommend at least six, and ideally more, to bring out their confident, foraging behaviour. They pair beautifully with peaceful mid-water shoalers, making them a staple of the planted community tanks popular in Singapore homes.
Soft, smooth substrate is important, since corydoras barbels abrade on sharp gravel, so fine sand or rounded grains keep their feelers healthy. Our 27-29C ambient suits them, and treated, lightly softened tap water keeps them comfortable. Feed sinking foods so they get their share before faster fish clear the surface, keep oxygenation good in our heat, and acclimate new arrivals slowly into a mature, stable tank.
