Panda Corydoras gets it’s common name from the dark patches over it’s eyes. There is also a dark spot near the tail fin. These corydoras do well when kept in schools of 6 or more. Corydoras in general are quite popular in the hobby and make good tank mates for similar sized species. The Panda Cories like slightly cooler water temperatures than most tropicals.

How To Safely Add Fish To Tank

  1. Set live stock aside with transportation bag in room temperature place for 30 minutes.

  3. Use a fish net to transfer the live stock by scooping it from the bag into the tank.

Note: Do not release live stocks together with the transportation water into tank.

Panda Corydoras: A Charming Bottom Crew for SG Tanks

The Panda Corydoras earns its name from the black eye-patches and tail marking that stand out against its pale body, and it is one of the most popular small cories for good reason. These peaceful, sociable catfish are happiest in groups of six or more, where they forage across the substrate in a busy little gang. They sift food from the bottom and add constant gentle activity to a community tank without bothering plants, shrimp or other fish.

Cories do best over soft sand or smooth, rounded gravel, since sharp substrate wears down the delicate barbels they use to find food. Singapore’s soft, slightly acidic tap water suits Panda Cories well, and the warm 27-29C ambient is comfortable, though Pandas prefer the cooler end, so avoid letting the tank overheat. Keep good substrate hygiene, as barbel erosion in cories almost always traces back to a dirty or coarse bottom.
