Using the ANS Triple Isolation Box in SG Tanks

With three separate 10cm compartments, this hang-on box lets us keep berried shrimp, a single fry batch and a recovering fish apart without committing a whole spare tank. In compact HDB and condo setups where floor-loading rules out a second aquarium, it is an honest space-saver. We typically clip it onto the back glass so it draws warmed display water, keeping each chamber at the same ambient 27-29C the main tank already sits at.

The slotted walls let water flow through while holding tiny occupants in, but that same flow can pull fry against the mesh, so we keep a gentle sponge filter or low outflow nearby rather than strong current. For shrimplets and soft-water egg-layers, the box shares the display’s chemistry, which suits the slightly acidic, soft profile most of us get from dechlorinated SG tap. Add a sprig of moss inside for grip and grazing.
