A welded iron stand is the choice many serious keepers make when they want strength without the bulk of a closed cabinet. Built locally to your dimensions, it carries the considerable weight of a filled aquarium on a rigid frame while leaving the space beneath open and airy, which suits keepers who want easy access to sumps, canisters and plumbing rather than tucking everything behind cabinet doors.

The open two-level design is genuinely practical in our climate. Good airflow around the underside helps in Singapore’s humidity, where enclosed cabinets can trap moisture, and an open lower shelf is handy for a sump or storage. As with any stand, the priority is that it sits dead level and that your floor can take the load, an important check in HDB and condo homes. Building to order also lets you add levels or specify plank shelving to match your setup.
