Planning for the JUWEL Rio 300 in a Singapore flat
The Rio 300 is a serious display tank: 300 litres of water alone weighs 300kg, and with the cabinet, substrate, rock and glass the loaded system runs comfortably past 400kg. That puts floor loading front of mind. In HDB and condo homes we strongly advise positioning it along a structural load-bearing wall, spreading weight over the cabinet’s full base, and confirming the unit is dead level before you add a drop of water. Get this right and the included Bioflow filtration and lighting give you a stable, generous home for a community or planted display.
The larger volume is forgiving of beginner mistakes, since parameters swing more slowly in 300 litres than in a nano. Our ambient 27-29C means many tropical community fish need no heater, though sensitive species may want a chiller in the warmest months. The roomy cabinet swallows a canister filter, CO2 cylinder and a monsoon-season backup air pump out of sight.
See the full cabinets and stands range, and read our tank weight guide and HDB built-in aquarium rules before installing a tank this size.
