Nature Grains! Superworms as a Singapore Aquarium Treat
Dried superworms are one of our go-to high-energy treats for the bigger, hungrier fish many of us keep here, including flowerhorns, oscars, large cichlids, archers and even turtles. The microwave-dried worms are calorie-dense and rich in fibre and protein, which makes them excellent for conditioning fish or coaxing a fussy eater back onto food. We treat them as an occasional reward rather than a daily meal, since their richness can be too much fed in excess.
Because our tanks sit at a warm 27-29C, fish metabolise quickly but waste also builds quickly, so we suggest small portions a couple of times a week and netting out anything uneaten. Floating worms suit surface-oriented fish, while a brief soak in tank water sinks them for mid-water feeders. Keep the pack sealed against Singapore humidity and store it somewhere cool and dry to preserve crunch and nutrition.
