Why CO2-resistant tubing matters on a local planted tank
Ordinary silicone airline looks fine but is porous to carbon dioxide, so a slow, invisible leak bleeds gas out along the whole run before it ever reaches your plants. This 3-metre blue CO2-resistant tube uses a tight, low-permeability wall so the gas you pay for actually arrives at the atomiser. On longer cabinet runs the difference is real: a more stable drop checker colour and a bubble rate that does not need creeping upward week after week.
It is stiffer than silicone, so warm the ends briefly before pushing them onto barbs and atomiser fittings for a tight, leak-free seal. Route it neatly behind the cabinet, fit a check valve so an overnight or monsoon power cut cannot pull water back up the line, and inspect joints when you service the regulator. Trim only what you need so you keep spare length for future rescaping.
