Clearing glass with the ANS PRO Tools algae scraper
A stainless-steel scraper is the fastest way to take green spot algae off the inside of your tank, the hard, flat dots that magnetic pads tend to just polish rather than remove. This ANS tool reaches 370mm and extends to 670mm when jointed, so you can clean a taller display from above without soaking your arm to the shoulder. The rust-resistant finish holds up to the constant damp of our climate where cheaper blades corrode fast.
On low-iron and rimless tanks, work carefully and keep grit off the blade, since a trapped sand grain can leave fine scratches on the front pane. Green spot algae is common on the brightly lit glass of local planted tanks, and a quick weekly scrape during your water change keeps the viewing pane crystal clear with very little effort.
