Refreshing Your Twinstar with the M9 Reactor Electrode
The M9 is the larger replacement electrode in the Twinstar range, made for the bigger units such as the Nano Plus, Yotta Plus and the Twinstar 1 Nano and Super-S. As with all Twinstar electrodes, the original wears out after about a year of use, and fitting the correct M9 brings the reactor back to full performance without buying a new device. Confirm your model against the listing so you match the right electrode to your unit.
For Singapore aquascapers running larger planted displays, keeping a spare M9 ready avoids downtime when the old one fades. A tired electrode loses effect gradually rather than all at once, so swapping on schedule keeps the unit consistent in our warm 27-29C water. Fit the new electrode carefully, seat it fully, and keep the electrical connection dry given our humid homes. Jot down the install date so the next replacement does not catch you off guard mid-scape.
It belongs to our CO2 systems range alongside the reactors it fits. For the bigger picture on running a planted display, read our high-tech planted tank guide and our CO2 guide.
