API Aquarium Salt (Quart) for Singapore Fishkeepers

The quart tub is the practical mid-size for most home keepers in Singapore, enough for regular use without the bulk of the gallon container. Aquarium salt is a freshwater additive that supports gill function and acts as a gentle aid during stress or minor outbreaks. Because it doesn’t leave the water by evaporation, you only ever remove it through water changes, so dose deliberately and track what you’ve added rather than topping up by guesswork.

In our 27-29C tanks, fish metabolise and breathe faster, and a measured salt dose can ease them through transport or a rough patch. Keep in mind that shrimp, many snails, and soft-water plants react poorly to salt, so planted and shrimp keepers in HDB nano tanks should treat in a separate hospital container instead. Sealed and kept dry, the tub resists clumping despite local humidity.
