Description
API® QUICK START nitrifying bacteria allows for the instant addition of fish, as it immediately starts the natural aquarium cycle with beneficial bacteria, which converts toxic ammonia into nitrite, then into harmless nitrate to help prevent fish loss in your tank. Best for use when starting a new aquarium, after water changes and filter changes, and when adding new fish to an existing aquarium. API QUICK START nitrifying bacteria may be used in both fresh and saltwater aquariums.Sizes

API Quick Start for Cycling Tanks in Singapore
Quick Start is a bottled nitrifying bacteria booster meant to jump-start the nitrogen cycle, the process that converts toxic ammonia to nitrite and then to far safer nitrate. We recommend it most for new tanks, after a filter clean, or when adding a batch of fish, situations where the bacterial population needs help keeping pace. It’s a useful safety net, though we still encourage proper cycling and regular testing rather than relying on a bottle alone.
In Singapore’s warm 27-29C water, bacteria establish reasonably quickly, but a new tank can still see ammonia spikes that stress or kill fish before the biofilter catches up. Dosing a starter culture alongside light feeding and patience smooths that risky early window. Keep the bottle out of heat, our ambient warmth and humidity shorten the shelf life of live-bacteria products, so buy what you’ll use and store it somewhere cool.
