NT Labs Tap Water Safe for Singapore’s chloraminated supply
Every aquarist in Singapore needs a reliable conditioner, because our tap water is treated with chloramine as well as chlorine, both of which are toxic to fish and to the bacteria in your filter. Tap Water Safe neutralises these along with heavy metals, and adds a protective coating that helps reduce the stress of transport and handling. We reach for it on every fresh fill and every water change, without exception.
Chloramine matters because, unlike chlorine, it will not simply gas off if you leave a bucket standing overnight, so a conditioner that specifically handles it is essential here. It is also useful in transport bags when you are bringing new fish back from the shop, easing the journey home in our heat. Keep a bottle within reach of your maintenance bucket so dechlorinating never becomes an afterthought during a quick top-up.
Learn why local water needs this in our Singapore tap water guide, and compare options in our dechlorinator comparison. Browse more in our conditioners & medication range.
