Description

What the advantage of using AQUA COPPER?

Copper based treatment is known to be effective against a range of common external parasites. What is hard to achieve is to maintain active copper concentration over a period of 1-2 weeks. Common copper based product may not have this long lasting effect and require multiple dosing.

Eiho aqua copper instead use chelated copper, which will provide effective copper concentration over a period of 1-4 weeks, needed to exterminate even stubborn parasites.

EIHO AQUA COPPER is a special formulation to combat against external parasites. It is effective against ich, flukes (Gyrodactylus, Dactylogyrus), anchor worms, velvet (Oodinium and Amyloodimium) and protozoan parasite (Chilodonella, Costia, Trichodina, Brooklynella).

Most fish carry a small amount of external parasites. When fish are stressed or environmental conditions are poor, these parasites can in turn flourish, and affect the fish. AQUA COPPER contains chelated copper which will provide fast treatment against these parasites.

Symptoms
Fish can have opaque patches of slime on body
Flicking and rubbing against object
Rapid gills movement and appear restless
Ocassionally stays near to surface of water
Dusty appearance (mini spots all over body)
Eyes can appear sunken

Directions

1 cap (5ml) for 50L. Single dosage can provide effective concentration of copper ions over a period of 2-4 weeks. Remove activated carbon and turn off UV during treatment. Use copper test kit to measure level before adding the second dosage. The effective concentration of copper is 0.15 -0.20mg/l. Will harm invertebrates, snails, shrimps and plants. Do not overdose. Please ensure KH level is 2dkH or above before using EIHO AQUA COPPER.

EIHO Aqua Copper for external parasites in Singapore tanks

Copper is a long-trusted treatment against a range of external parasites, but its weakness is that ordinary copper drops out of solution quickly and needs constant redosing to stay effective. Aqua Copper uses chelated copper, which holds an active concentration in the water longer so the therapeutic level is easier to maintain across the days needed to clear a parasite cycle. We find it useful for fish-only quarantine and treatment tanks where a sustained copper level does the work.

Copper is genuinely toxic to invertebrates, so never dose it in a tank holding shrimp, snails or other inverts, and avoid using it in a planted display. We always recommend treating in a dedicated hospital tank, removing activated carbon first, and keeping aeration strong in our warm 27-29C water. Because copper margins are narrow, follow the bottle’s dosing precisely and, ideally, track levels so you stay in the effective-but-safe band throughout the course.
