Faq
Does JBL Tropol contain mineral acides which influence the pH level ?
> No, JBL Tropol does not contain any mineral acids. It consists of humic substance extracts to produce the blackwater effect, amongst other substances. A slight decrease in the pH level may occur, depending on the carbonate hardness. This, though, is not enough to achieve low pH levels.
There is no risk of a sudden drop in acidity when using JBL Tropol.
Can I use JBL Aradol if I have shrimp in my tank?
> JBL Clonal can in fact bind the active ingredients of JBL Tropol, thereby removing them from the water.
JBL Tropol Blackwater Extract for SG Aquariums
Tropol is a liquid blackwater extract that adds humic substances and tannins to recreate the soft, tea-stained water of tropical rivers. We find it the easiest entry point for keepers who want the blackwater look and its benefits without committing to a filter full of peat or a tank floored with botanicals. Dosed at water changes, it tints the water a gentle amber and helps fish from blackwater habitats settle and acclimatise.
It suits Singapore conditions well, since our tap water is already soft and slightly acidic after dechlorination, giving the extract a sympathetic base to work on. It is a particularly useful aid when acclimatising wild-caught or sensitive species that expect humic-rich water. Add it gradually and observe your fish, and remember a liquid extract complements rather than replaces your normal dechlorinator at water-change time.
