Common Name: Crypt Willisii
Cryptocoryne Willisii is a less common variant of Cryptocoryne which has bright green grass-like leaves. The characteristics are similar to that of other Crypts such as Crypt Lucens. Like other plants in the same family, it grows at a moderate rate and can be grown both submerged and emerged. To propagate, simply cut off new plantlets growing from the mother rhizome.

Notes:

Cryptocoryne prefer not to be moved once planted. If possible, do not move them!
Do not make drastic changes to the aquarium. Unstable parameters will result in melt and rotting of the aquarium plant.

Cryptocoryne Willisii Care for Singapore Tanks

Cryptocoryne Willisii is a less common crypt prized for its bright green, grass-like leaves that bring a fresh, reedy texture to foreground and mid-ground plantings. Singapore aquascapers use it where they want a natural, flowing look that contrasts nicely against broader-leaved crypts and darker buce. Available as a potted plant or tissue-culture cup, the cup option arrives clean and pest-free, which is ideal for shrimp tanks and meticulously kept nano scapes where avoiding hitchhikers matters.

Willisii grows at a moderate pace and is a heavy root feeder, so planting it into quality aqua soil gives the steadiest results. It does not require pressurised CO2 and is happy under low to moderate light, suiting low-tech local setups. Our 27-29C ambient water needs no chiller, and our soft tap water suits it once dechlorinated. Crypts prefer not to be moved once planted, so choose its spot carefully and avoid drastic parameter changes that can trigger melt and rot.
