The M size at 30-38cm is a versatile workhorse for the typical Singapore living-room tank, large enough to read as a centrepiece in a 60cm scape yet manageable in a planted community setup. Malayan driftwood carries an organic, knotted character that suits nature and jungle styles, and its surface takes moss, ferns and epiphytes readily, letting you build depth and shade for fish that appreciate cover in our consistently warm water.

As with all real wood, the M piece will tint the water amber from tannins at first and may grow a temporary white fuzz, both harmless. We suggest soaking or boiling to help it sink and to pull tannins forward; the gentle pH-lowering effect actually suits soft, acidic-loving species kept in our local tap water. Frequent early water changes or carbon clear the tint if you want a bright, neutral look instead.
