ANS Malayan Driftwood S (20-30cm) for Nano and Mid Tanks

The Small grade at 20-30cm is our go-to for nano cubes, 1-2 foot tanks and as supporting branches in a larger composition. It is easy to handle on an HDB tabletop and quick to position, so beginners can experiment with angles without wrestling a heavy log. Regionally sourced Malayan wood carries fine grain and leaches tannins that gently soften and acidify the water, complementing the profile of dechlorinated SG tap.

A piece this size still floats when fresh but waterlogs faster than the bigger grades, often within a week or two of soaking or a short boil. We like grouping two or three S pieces to imply a single fallen branch, hiding the joins behind stone or moss. The early biofilm that appears in warm tanks is harmless and grazed away by shrimp and otos as the scape settles.
