Using ANS Mixed Marble in Your Singapore Aquascape
Marble chips like these are a calcareous decorative stone, so they will slowly raise hardness and nudge pH upward in the tank. That matters here because our local supply is already soft and slightly acidic, and a 1kg portion of marble scattered as accent rock or used as a top-dressing can gently lift KH for fish that appreciate harder water. We usually suggest it as a feature rather than a full base layer, kept where you can see the bright tone.
Because it is mineral-reactive, marble suits livebearers, rainbowfish and some cichlid setups more than soft-water blackwater tanks or sensitive shrimp. Give every piece a thorough rinse under running water before it goes in, since fine dust clings to the surface and will haze a freshly filled tank. Place it after your main hardscape is set so the lighter chips read as deliberate detail and do not get buried under planting later.
Browse the rest of our decorations range to pair it with wood or darker stone. If you are weighing how a reactive stone affects your tank, our notes on Singapore water hardness and on active versus inert substrate explain what to expect.
