Aquascaping with ANS Nature Twigs

Nature Twigs are slim natural branches that bring fine, root-like detail to a layout, filling the gaps where chunky driftwood looks too heavy. The smaller 100g pack suits nano tanks while the 200g pack covers a bigger scape, and because they ship at random you will get a varied mix of shapes to arrange. We reach for them when building a forest or riverbank look that needs delicate twiggy lines rather than one dominant centrepiece.

Like most botanical wood, fresh twigs leach tannins and tint the water a light tea colour for the first few weeks, and they may float until waterlogged. A presoak or weighing them down with rock sorts this out. The tannins are harmless and even welcomed in blackwater and shrimp tanks, but if you want crystal-clear water, plan a few extra water changes early on.
