Description
This driftwood is come from dead mangrove trees or roots in Indonesia and Sumatra. After collected from the wild, it is sandblasted to remove the bark and then cut into smaller pieces. It has a soft light tan color and typically floats briefly before sinking. In the first 2 to 3 weeks, it releases small amounts of tannins into the aquarium water.

ANS Sumatra Driftwood in Sizes XS to XXXL
Sourced from dead mangrove roots in Indonesia and Sumatra, this driftwood is sandblasted to strip the bark and cut into workable pieces, leaving a soft, light tan finish. We stock it from XS (10-15cm) right up to XXXL, so whether you are scaping a nano cube or building a centrepiece for a large display, there is a size that fits. Its gnarled, weathered character makes it a natural anchor for moss, ferns and Anubias.
Fresh pieces typically float briefly before waterlogging and sinking, and they release a modest amount of tannins over the first two to three weeks, gently tinting the water. In SG our soft, slightly acidic tap water suits that tannin-stained, blackwater aesthetic nicely. Pre-soaking or weighing the wood down speeds sinking, and a short boil reduces the early biofilm bloom that new driftwood often shows.
