The RQ1816 Cave House as a Practical Hideout

At 28.5 by 18 by 15cm, the RQ1816 cave house is a substantial piece that doubles as both a centrepiece and a genuine refuge. We recommend it for keepers who want one ornament to carry the scape while also giving fish real shelter, useful in busy Singapore living rooms where constant foot traffic past the glass keeps shy species on edge. Its size suits a 60cm tank or larger; in a nano it leaves little open water.

The hollow interior and multiple openings make it a strong choice for cave-dwellers such as small cichlids, plecos and loaches, and even spawning pairs that want an enclosed den. Rinse it in dechlorinated water before it goes in to clear residue from our chloraminated supply, then seat it firmly on the substrate with at least one opening facing the glass so you can watch fish using it rather than disappearing out of view.
