Working the RQ2012 Tree Decoration into an Aquascape
A resin tree is one of the easier ways to fake a hardscape look without sourcing and sterilising real driftwood, which appeals to time-pressed Singapore hobbyists. This RQ Tree piece brings a branching, natural silhouette that breaks up the open water and gives a tank instant depth. Its form also offers shy fish a place to shelter among the roots, helping them feel secure enough to come out and explore the rest of the tank.
Give it a thorough rinse under running water before use, never detergent. The resin is inert, so unlike real wood it will not leach tannins or tint your water, and it will not shift your soft, slightly acidic local chemistry. We love attaching moss or a small epiphyte like Anubias to a resin tree to blur the line between ornament and living scape, which over a few weeks makes the piece look like it genuinely grew in place.
