The RQ2018 Sea Fan as Soft Movement

At 48cm, the RQ2018 sea fan is a tall, branching ornament that mimics the swaying gorgonians of a reef without needing a marine setup. We point local keepers toward it when they want height and a sense of gentle movement in a freshwater tank; positioned in the filter return’s flow, the fine branches catch the current and add the drifting look that static rockwork can’t. It suits taller HDB and condo display tanks well.

Because it is broad and light, it can lift or lean in strong flow, so we anchor the base under substrate or wedge it against hardscape. Give it a treated-water rinse first to clear residue from our chloraminated supply. The open branching also gives fry and shy fish somewhere to hover, breaking up the open swimming column that makes nervous species hug the corners.
