The RQ2222 Resin Wood Log for Natural Scapes
The RQ2222 log runs about 26 by 9 by 6.5cm and gives you the look of aged driftwood without the unpredictability of real wood. In Singapore that is a genuine convenience: natural driftwood leaches tannins that tint the water tea-brown and needs weeks of soaking before it sinks, whereas this resin log goes straight in, stays inert and keeps your water clear from day one. It suits keepers who want the natural aesthetic without the wait.
The hollow underside and bark texture give shrimp, Corydoras and small loaches a shaded run to graze along, which mimics the leaf-litter cover many of our tropical species prefer. Give it a dechlorinated-water rinse to clear residue from our chloraminated supply, then bed it into the substrate at a low angle so it looks like it has settled there naturally rather than been placed on top.
