Using the SUDO E-7SP Tako Pot in Singapore Tanks
The Tako pot has long been a quiet favourite among Singapore breeders because it solves a problem our warm tanks create: territorial fish that need a defensible cave. At the larger 200mm footprint, this E-7SP suits bristlenose plecos, kribensis and bigger Apistogramma pairs. The fired ceramic stays inert in our chloraminated, slightly soft tap water, so it holds steady without nudging your parameters during a fry-rearing run.
Its single rounded entrance gives a female somewhere dark to deposit and guard a clutch, which matters in a 27-29C room tank where spawning happens readily but eggs are easily disturbed. The smooth glaze also resists the biofilm scrubbing that pitted resin caves suffer over time, and the weight keeps it planted on the substrate even under a strong canister return. We have hobbyists who simply use it as a shy-fish retreat in a busy community layout.
It sits naturally in a hardscape-led setup, half-buried among stones. Browse more decorations to pair with it, and read our pleco breeding cave guide plus our bristlenose breeding walkthrough for placement tips that actually trigger spawns here.
