The UP Aqua 3D Hang-On Background for Paludariums

This hang-on 3D background clips onto the back glass to recreate a floating-island look without the mess of siliconing a foam wall into a filled tank. Available in 16cm and 17cm lengths, it suits the nano paludarium and semi-aquatic builds that have taken off among local hobbyists, giving you instant depth and a planting ledge for mosses and emergent plants to colonise. Because it simply hangs on, you can reposition or remove it without tearing down the scape.

Singapore’s naturally high humidity is a real advantage for paludarium-style setups like this, keeping the emersed sections of the background damp and the mosses and ferns happy with far less effort than in a drier climate. We like using these to add a backdrop that hides equipment and cords while creating a textured surface for plants to grip. Note that this is the background only, so you supply your own tank, plants and lighting.
