UP F-1022 Discus Cone for Pairing and Spawning
This ceramic-style breeding cone, at roughly 13 x 13 x 29.5cm, gives discus and similar substrate-spawning cichlids a tall, smooth vertical surface to lay their eggs on. Many discus keepers prefer a dedicated cone over slate or flowerpots because it is easy to clean, stands stable on bare bottoms, and keeps a clutch up off the substrate away from debris. Its upright form also mimics the submerged stems and roots pairs naturally choose.
For Singapore breeders, the upside is that our naturally soft, slightly acidic tap water already leans towards discus spawning conditions, though you will still want to dial in temperature and pristine parameters. Position the cone in a low-flow corner so fry and free fluids are not blasted off, and keep the breeding tank spotless, as discus eggs and wrigglers are very sensitive to fouling in our warm climate.
