Using the ZZ Mountain Deco in your Singapore aquarium
At about 33cm tall, this resin mountain piece works best as a centrepiece in a taller tank rather than a shallow nano. We see it most often in HDB and condo living-room setups where a single dramatic vertical feature anchors the layout. Position it slightly off-centre so swimming fish still have open water on one side, and tuck it against the back glass so the moulded crevices face outward as natural-looking shelter for bettas and smaller community fish.
Resin holds up well in our warm 27-29C tanks and will not leach or soften, but the textured surface does collect algae and biofilm in our bright, humid conditions. A monthly soft-brush rinse in old tank water keeps the detail crisp. Because the base is solid, set it directly on the glass before adding substrate so it cannot shift and trap a curious shrimp or trap detritus underneath where it goes anaerobic.
